Billboards help women choose life!
Child Abuse Intervention Fund has teamed up with CareNet, a national pro-life ministry, to help provide billboards advertising their toll-free help line across the U.S and Canada. Statistics show that 90 out of 100 women would have preferred a positive alternative to abortion if only they knew a realistic one was available at their time of need. These billboards have already helped thousands of women choose life for their unborn by providing someone to turn to for help in crisis. Over 16,000 billboards have been placed so far.
CAIF is also helping CareNet to maintain and improve the availability of its toll-free Help Line to abortion-vulnerable women. The Help Line currently links 635 Care Net member centers together. This is currently the only national toll-free help line in the U.S. which connects a frightened young woman with a caring local pregnancy center. Plans are to make the Help Line available to crisis pregnancy centers that are not Care Net members. This will enable more women facing unplanned pregnancies to get the help they need from a local pregnancy center.
Helping to place these billboards is a significant and strategic service! Each billboard costs $250. An average of 8-10 women faced with a crisis pregnancy and needing help will call after seeing a billboard.
Based on three years of historical data, the more advertising of the 1-800 Help Line there is, the greater the progress is towards reducing the number of abortions. Careful monitoring of the billboard campaign in a test region demonstrated a 65% increase in clients coming to CareNet member centers for help. One test area saw a 100% increase in clients in a 3-month period. This represents one of the most significant breakthroughs in the 28-year history of the modern pro-life movement! And it is due in large part to the effectiveness of this billboard campaign.
